讲座（一）：Historical Politeness Research: An Overview历史礼貌研究概述
Historical pragmatics has recently gained momentum in China. As part of this, politeness in historical materials has gained significant interest: more and more scholars have started to examine not only politeness in historical English but - significantly to international academia - historical Chinese politeness as well. Yet, to date little attention has been given to historical politeness research as an independent field. In this lecture, I am going to overview this field, by relying on a paper that I co-authored with Kim Ridealgh and which is scheduled to be published in Journal of Historical Pragmatics this November. I hope to use this talk to trigger further interest in historical Chinese politeness - I will argue that studying this theme is an excellent opportunity also to get research published in SSCI-indexed journals.
